Cartoon

What I did for my cartoon was inspired by a You Tuber that illustrates people's faces this way. I used the pen tool along with the calligraphy brush to create the outline and facial features on my face. I also used pathfinder a lot to make sure that the highlights, mid-tones and dark values can overlap well. I also used the pencil tool to create solid free forming highlights, mid-tones and dark values the pen tool is not as good at. When it came to valuing accordingly to the proper areas I used his face as a reference to where highlights, mid-tones, and dark values went on a person's face and why they were there while adding a creepy vibe to it with the neck effect. I decided on the skin tone and lip tone then used that hex as a reference to increase or decrease the value with about 50% opacity. Overall for my first cartoon, I'm proud of it despite how irritated I got and learned the shortcuts and tools more in-depth while figuring things out things that will be useful for the future.
